Charter Realty & Development is pleased to announce that it has been retained by Gateway Fashion Mall, LLC of Calabasas, CA to lease the Gateway Fashion Mall in Bismarck, ND, the state capital located in the center of North Dakota. Gateway Fashion Mall is a 310,000 SF regional mall that has served the city of Bismarck and greater Burleigh County for more than 30 years. The center is located at the city's busiest intersection, the corner of Century Avenue and State Street, with access to Interstate 94 and Highway 83. Gateway Fashion Mall is anchored by Sears and Carmike Theaters and recently has undergone a $9 million renovation. Charter will focus on leveraging the mall’s exceptional positioning in the market to lease to anchor, junior anchor and specialty retailers who seek a regional draw and access.
Gateway Fashion Mall is the latest addition to CRDC’s Enclosed Mall Division portfolio. With the addition of Gateway Fashion Mall, the Enclosed Mall Division now leases over 1.5 million SF of space, including Columbia Mall in Bloomsburg, PA and Walpole Mall in Walpole, MA. The Enclosed Mall Division was formed to bring the same vision and expertise to enclosed malls as Charter Realty has brought to the open center area for the past 16 years. This new division is led by industry expert Peter Elliott who brings extensive experience in the enclosed mall field. He has previously been with Simon Property Group, The Pyramid Company, Urban Retail Properties, Commonwealth Development Group and Forest City Enterprises. Peter has been involved in the leasing and redevelopment of enclosed malls totaling over 32 million square feet in 7 states (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Georgia, Virginia, Connecticut, and New Jersey). The Division offers leasing, redevelopment, management, and lenders advisory services for enclosed malls throughout the eastern United States. Charter will also pursue joint venture relationships in certain opportunistic instances.
Charter currently leases or owns over 90 properties totaling over 13,900,000 square feet throughout the eastern United States.
