Peter W. Elliott
A member of Charter Realty as of May 2009, Mr. Elliott leads the Enclosed Mall division with a focus on developing the company's mall portfolio. The Division will leverage Charter's long established experience in leasing and redeveloping underutilized open-air shopping centers with the extensive mall experience of Mr. Elliott. The collective effort will allow the Division to optimize the company's relationships with retailers, developers, lenders, and landlords and to offer a comprehensive solution for mall owners to reinvigorate their properties.
Mr. Elliott's strengths include: identifying and securing opportunities for the marketing and leasing of enclosed malls by employing thorough market knowledge, broad contacts in the retail community and exhaustive canvassing; determining best use scenarios for malls and procuring traffic-generating retail and non-retail tenants, including small shop retailers, specialty incubator tenants, entertainment, restaurant and medical uses; assessing and strategically implementing goals to find and create property's untapped value; and developing marketing strategies that assess market needs and capitalize on the mall's strength of location, access, parking, tenant-mix through exhaustive canvassing and internet-based search strategies.
Prior to joining Charter Realty, Mr. Elliott has enjoyed a career of twenty years in the retail development arena and has been involved in all facets of regional mall development, with such companies as Simon Property Group, Urban Retail Properties, The Pyramid Companies, Forest City and Vornado Realty Trust. His experience includes all types of leasing, including small shop, restaurant, big-box and department store, in projects ranging from neighborhood centers to "ground up" regional mall developments. Mr. Elliott is a graduate of the University of Rochester and lives in Fairfield County Connecticut.
