Charter Enclosed Mall & Lifestyle Retail Division specializes in leasing, redevelopment, management and remerchandising of regional, community enclosed malls and lifestyle centers. With the enclosed mall industry in a state of flux and many undersized and out-positioned older facilities achieving subpar sales performance, Charter prides itself on developing creative solutions to reinvigorate these types of properties. In addition, many of the newly created lifestyle centers now find themselves having to adapt to a dramatic shift in consumer shopping patterns. Charter has implemented both alternative use strategies and redevelopment strategies in order to establish a new identity for a mall or lifestyle center in its given marketplace. This new identity allows the property to complete an economic turnaround stabilizing its renewed presence in the community. Charter's entrepreneurial approach streamlines what is often a difficult transformation and "cuts to the chase."
The division is headed by Peter Elliott who brings over 20 years of enclosed mall, leasing, development and redevelopment skills to the table. He has worked with regional mall developers Simon Property Group, Urban Retail Properties, The Pyramid Companies, Forest City and Vornado Realty Trust as well as his own firm. He brings with him strong contacts on the national and regional levels for mall leasing.
